For the first time ever, Pantone released two colors of the year instead of just one for 2016. Intended to be paired together in fashion, interior design and other aspects of our visual world, Serenity and Rose Quartz are distinctly different yet a natural combination.
So other than the obvious, painting your walls with those colors, how can you incorporate them into your interior design scheme this year? Pantone suggests adding the combo with a rug or upholstered furniture. Also, a less expensive option for getting the look is to add a few decorative accessories such as a vase, throw pillows, tableware, candles, artwork, etc., in Rose Quartz and Serenity.
Keep in mind that mixing different textures and sheens adds interest. To get your home up to speed with this trend, think about selecting a variety of fabrics as well as matte and even metallic finishes in both colors. But no matter how you choose to incorporate it, according to Pantone, “The pairing of Serenity and Rose Quartz brings a feeling of calm and relaxation into the home environment.”
